28th - 29th June 2012 @ Surabaya

Finally, here I am starting off my first series of blog post for my work trip in Surabaya. Hehehe~ This post has been delayed long enough since I came back on the 6th of July 2012. I was being put in charge as a coach/chaperon to 12 swimmers/students who will be competing in Surabaya, Indonesia from 28th June till 06th July 2012 for the 4th ASEAN School Games. It was a tough road for me to face before flying off with the Brunei contingent especially facing tough questions and bloody hard headed coach who can't comprehend the difference in departments to bring these swimmers/students to Surabaya. Anyhows, let's start off well with this first post of mine. I don't want to talk much about the idiotic coach who made my life a living hell before fly off and not to mention a parent who add on the idiocy!!! Narration will be available under each picture as much as I can :))

Upon arrival at Juanda International Airport, Surabaya. These boys were unable to wait patiently while our passports were bring checked. Such a shame to be trained under the Centre of Excellence program but their DISCIPLINE sucks big time!!!
Look at the other athletes of Brunei's contingent. They just wait patiently without doing anything mischievous  O.o
We had this huge bus all to ourselves :))
The bus company
Entrance to our hotel room. This is a 3 star hotel but the maintenance of the room is not that good. Windows can't be shut tightly, bathroom sewage system stinks, mosquitoes flying here and there :s
Part of the wardrobe that sucks big time too. So dirty :s
Old fridge. Luckily still working
I shared my room with the twins
Look at the stool. Its crooked O.o
Had to get this from the hotel management in order to plug in my lappy and  handphone for electricity
Luckily got wifi in the hotel!!!
2nd day in Surabaya. Had mosquito bites at the hotel's coffee shop when having breakfast =.="

7am (Surabaya time) Training at the swimming pool. Luckily we are the first to arrive. We had the pool all  to ourselves.
Coach Jimmy & Coach Victor's swimmers are the best. Here they are getting ready to enter the water for warm up
Meanwhile these are the Centre of Excellence (COE) swimmers. They so love to waste time and doesn't want to listen to the officer in charge orders!!! Such a shame to have them under the so called "EXCELLENCE" program when their discipline seriously ain't at the "EXCELLENCE" level
See the COE swimmers?!?

Don't know what they are trying to do. Warm up all the way yet in competition still come in last :s

This swimmer is the worst of all. Bad discipline among the others. He is the last to enter the water for warm up
These are the Thai swimmers. They are so disciplined!!!
After morning training, we had managers meeting at the hotel (10.30am - Surabaya time)

Our file. Wrong spelling leh =.="
After lunch, get to rest for a few hours before heading out again for the opening ceremony of the Games. While resting, I catch up with my Wimbledon ^^

4pm - heading off for opening ceremony. We had to share our bus with the Vietnamese
On our way to the venue for opening ceremony, saw this by the road side. Vandalism is also bad here  :s
Packed bag
Snacks for us while waiting for the ceremony to start
The entertainment from Senior Musical High School. School dedicated to exploiting the musical talents of the students :D

See those two boys walking away in black t-shirts?!? Those are the COE swimmers. Other athletes of Brunei are  well seated at their own seats. Unlike them who can't behave!!!

Me & other sport female officers with the mascot for the Games

Luckily at the opening ceremony venue got coffee shop. Had my dose of coffee :)

Our packed dinner

I only love the sambal out of this packet food. Really spicy!!!

Cg Rahman and me. He used to bring me for ASEAN School swimming in the 90's
Our uniformed jacket for the opening ceremony
Officially on!!!
Fireworks at the stage area
Everyone was well behaved while there was entertainment by the Indonesian group called Sunny on stage but look at what this COE swimmer did!!! He imitates the group dancing routine
His act goes on more when he found out he was in the centre of attention *smack head*

Is this what the Centre of Excellence program has been teaching to the swimmers???
The end of Day 2. Finishing up the relay team form for Brunei contingent . Slept at  1.30am :s
